Learning-Teaching Adults in Healthcare

January 4th and 5th, 2018 from 8am to 4pm

held at The Ottawa Hospital - uOSSC, LOEB building, 1st Floor, Civic Campus

A fun and energetic two-day program including concept presentations, focused group discussions, questioning, breakout group activities, modeling and simulation.

Workshop Facilitator: Julie Jeffries, Director Health Professions Education, will be facilitating the workshop along with guest speakers. Julie is a Registered Nurse with over 15 years learning- teaching experience at Seneca College and Fanshawe College. Julie has taken numerous learning-teaching adults courses, most recently the Foundations of Facilitation course at the Cleveland Clinic.

Target audience: Clinical Educators and Healthcare Professionals responsible for education of healthcare providers in a healthcare environment

Topics to be covered include:

• Emerging trends in adult education, focus on CRSN and OCH perspectives
• Course design
• Learner engagement strategies
• Experiential learning-teaching activities related to group facilitation skills and simulation
• Personal reflections and personal action plans  

All participants MUST be pre-registered in order to attend.
The event will open for registration in November 30th, 2017.

Fee to attend: $150.00. Lunch will be included. Registration numbers are limited.
